Speedy Afghan Mantu-Inspired Dumplings
A quick and easy take on Afghan Mantu, using readily available ingredients and a simplified cooking method to minimize prep time. These dumplings are filled with a savory ground beef and onion mixture, steamed, and topped with a yogurt-mint sauce.

- Ground Cumin

- Plain Yogurt
- Fresh Mint
- Dried Mint

- In a bowl, combine ground beef, onion, garlic, ginger, coriander, cumin, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Place a small spoonful of the meat mixture in the center of each wonton wrapper. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water and fold into triangles or your preferred dumpling shape.
- Bring water to a boil in a large pot with a steamer basket. Place the dumplings in the steamer basket, ensuring they are not overcrowded. Steam for 15-20 minutes, or until the meat is cooked through and the wrappers are translucent.
- While the dumplings are steaming, prepare the yogurt sauce. In a small bowl, combine yogurt, fresh mint, dried mint (if using), and garlic powder. Mix well.
- Serve the steamed dumplings topped with the yogurt-mint sauce.
